St. Thomas Aquinas College New Hope Movement

Our fair trade story began with a single word: hope. Specifically, a new hope. Inspired by Fordham University’s Spes Nova Initiative, the professors at St. Thomas Aquinas College recruited students interested in making an impact and improving their global community through the practice of Fair Trade. Our students and professors started The New Hope Movement to educate about and promote fair trade by selling fair trade products and starting fair trade events at STAC. Our mission is to give talented artisans and craftspeople from economically disadvantaged areas a foothold to a global audience. We want to give STAC students a collaborative academic experience by building a startup business which implements fair trade principles.
