The University of Dayton will celebrate its fair trade university designation from national grassroots movement Fair Trade Campaigns and receive a certificate of recognition at an event 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the University of Dayton Bookstore located in Marianist Hall.
University of Dayton President Eric F. Spina, Provost Paul Benson and Vice President for Mission and Rector Rev. James Fitz will be on hand to discuss the designation and how it fits the University’s mission. Attendees can take the Slavery Footprint survey to see how many slaves are affected by their purchasing choices, sample fair trade tea and chocolates, and make a pledge to support ethical sourcing.
