Celebrate Earth Day with us by learning about what goes into your delicious bowl of Açaí! Açaí was one of the fastest growing trends in the health food market and has a presence on campus at 4+ restaurants. Learn from the world’s first Fair Trade and Organic certified açaí company, Sambazon, about their ecologically and ethically sustainable sourcing and cultivation methods.

Mandy Anhalt, Director of Global Compliance for Sambazon, regularly works in the wild harvest regions of the Amazon Rainforest to ensure the sourcing and processing points in Sambazon’s supply chain are equitable to the people involved and regenerative for the environment. Sambazon protects over 2.5 million acres of this rainforest and created The Greenhouse Initiative, a program that helps sustainable college startups bring their social impact model to life.

Join us on Earth Day to discuss how businesses can take accountability for their impacts on the world. Mandy will share her methods and experiences cultivating an ethical supply chain that promotes biodiversity, labor equity, and waste reduction. Sambazon’s mission is not just to provide a product – but to directly connect consumers to the sustainability of indigenous communities and Amazonian ecology.
