Nasreen Sheikh ran away from her village in Nepal at the age of 11 to escape forced marriage and oppression. She worked 12-15 hours a day in a sweatshop in Kathmandu and slept on the floor. At 16, she launched a women’s sewing cooperative and a foundation to help other young women and children in Nepal. Come here this inspiring young social entrepreneur share her story. Co-sponsored by Dominican University’s fashion department, the Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business, Chicago Fair Trade and the Oak Park Public Library.
