We knew international women’s day was the perfect opportunity to inform our students on the role Fair Trade plays in women’s lives around the world. Quinnipiac University was having a “teach-in” on the 21st to celebrate the holiday, so we jumped at the change to get involved by spreading the word on fair trade. We handed out free fair trade chocolate and bananas and spoke with students about what fair trade is and how they can help. We made sure to attach small cards on each item in case the student didn’t have time to stop and chat, they were still able to gain some knowledge and insight into Fair Trade.
