Our Journey

The inspiration for Faire Collection first took root when Founder and CEO Amanda Judge was conducting field research on poverty reduction strategies in rural Ecuador. Amanda concluded that the biggest potential for sustainable economic growth was in jewelry making. The project, which was initially intended to result in an academic paper, served as the business model for the original Andean Collection, now known as Faire Collection.

As a social enterprise, Faire Collectionimplements successful poverty-reducing social programs in the artisans’ communities. The first group of artisans that Faire Collection partnered with has seen their income increase over 800%. Faire Collection recently partnered with 117 new artisans in Peru, the Amazon Basin, Vietnam and Swaziland, meaning that the company now collaborates with a total of 225 artisans worldwide. Learn more about Faire Collection’s social impact here.

Major retail brands such as Anthropologie, DKNY, Calypso St. Barth, and J. Jill, as well as over 1,000 independent boutiques around the world, have helped solidify Faire Collection as America’s leading fair trade accessories company; what’s more, Faire Collection is now looking for Brand Ambassadors to continue outreach on a community level.
