The kitchen at first church is committed to fair trade purchasing. This includes our coffee, tea, and sugar. As time passes, this list will grow to be more comprehensive.

Lent and Advent

First Church focuses on fair trade during both lent and advent. Specifically, during advent, our pastor focuses on different practices each week to celebrate the coming of the Christ. An offering was taken throughout the month with 1/4 of the proceeds going towards fair trade work.

Spark Compassion

September 3, 2014

First Church hosted an event centered around social justice issues. There were three sets of speakers talking about human trafficking, fair trade, and refugee tutoring. The fair trade portion included an educational portion and a practical portion where people were given steps for how to engage in the issue and purchase fair trade products.

Roots of Giving Fair
