Saint Mary’s College Fair Trade Resolution
May 22, 2014The Saint Mary’s College Fair Trade Resolution was approved by the President of the College, his Cabinet and Fair Trade Committee. The Sustainability Committee and the Social Justice Coordinating Committee were made aware of the efforts to achieve Fair Trade Status and approved of the endeavor.
We serve Fair Trade recipes at our Fair Trade month October celebration. The desserts have fair trade ingredients and we show the congregation members the Fair Trade ingredients we used.

We participate in Reverse Trick or Treat chocolate program every Halloween. We also sell Fair Trade Valentine chocolate every Valentine’s Day.

We have a Fair Trade Christmas bazaar every December.
May 21, 2014We alternate between 10,000 Villages and SERRV for our Christmas bazaar and have three Sundays for people to shop at our bazaar and buy Christmas presents. We order and have them send the products and then pack up what’s left and send it back.
Fair Trade products are for sale and in use during fellowship time.
May 21, 2014We use fair Trade coffee, tea and sugar during fellowship time. We also have a table and display case with Fair Trade chocolate bars, coffee, tea, cocoa, baking cocoa, soup mixes and scone mixes for sale in the fellowship hall.
Fair Trade service to celebrate Fair Trade Day was held May 18. We had a special Fair Trade chocolate tasting after the service. We had a Fair Trade Challenge activity where people brought their Fair Trade wrappers to church and put them on a bulletin board so people could see what is available in town.
