‘God Bless this Child’

The week will conclude on Thursday, with the showing of “God Bless the Child,” a film depicting the struggle of homelessness and perpetual cycle of poverty and how it affects people; showing the sacrifices of a single mother in hopes of a better life for her daughter.

6th Annual Sleep Out

Wednesday is our big day, where we will be having our 6th annual sleep out to help students spend the night in solidarity with the homeless. The evening will include reflections and simulations of hunger and homelessness, then continue to the chapel lawn for the overnight sleep out. The night starts at 7pm in Tinsley.

Soup Kitchen Challenge

We will be kicking off the National Hunger and Homelessness week on November 17th in Taylor during dinner hours, with a soup kitchen challenge. Here, we will ask students and faculty to choose to eat what you would be given in a soup kitchen, typically a sandwich and a bowl of soup.
